Welcome to the website of the best fishing tournament in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the annual Wahoo Tournament. This tournament is now in it’s third year and once again is being organized by the hard working committee of “Fishing Events TCI”. This years tournament, the “Winter Wahoo Rodeo 2008” will follow closely in format to the two previous successful tournaments, the “Fishing Fools Wahoo Open” and the “Winter Wahoo Tournament”. Once again the focus fish will be the largest individual Wahoo with descending prize money for Tuna, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi) and finally the much maligned but often caught Barracuda. The prize money will once again be accompanied by return “SkyKing” tickets to the Dominican Republic in support of our main sponsor “Presidente Light Beer”, for the first three prizes. We have once again been fortunate to have gathered a full range of sponsors that enable us to build this into the biggest and best tournament in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Without them there is no doubt we could not organize this event. So we are extremely grateful for their generous and encouraging support. Special mention must be given here to our main sponsor “The Wine Cellar” in conjunction with “Presidente Light” who were willing to take a risk and sponsor us from day one. The committee is hoping that like in previous years anglers will come from all the main islands in the TCI as well as attracting anglers from visiting overseas boats to take part in this fun day of fishing. The fun as usual will begin at Tournament HQ, Tiki Hut on Friday 22nd February for the Captains Meeting at 6pm followed directly by the “Calcutta” in the newly refurbished “Tiki Room”. Here final registration will take place and goody bags will be distributed to each Captain. Bright and early on Saturday 23rd February the tournament will begin with boats being able to leave Turtle Cove Marina at 7:45 for a shotgun start at Sellers Cut at 8:00 pm.
All boats have to be back in Turtle Cove Marina before 4:00 pm to
have their fish qualify for weigh-in. (Download

On behalf of the committee of “Fishing Events TCI” I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone to our third annual fishing tournament, the “Winter Wahoo Rodeo 2008”. As in our previous two tournaments we will be placing the emphasis on FUN, both for you, the anglers, and also for the spectators and committee. However, safety and fishing regulations must be taken seriously to ensure that everyone can enjoy the day to it’s fullest. We are pleased to announce that part proceeds from this tournament will be donated to the S.N.A.P. committee so that they can fulfill one of their plans to build a playground for the children in their care. So not only are you having a fun day on the water you are helping to raise money for a worthwhile cause. We are also pleased to announce that there now will be a Website featuring this tournament and photographs from the previous two tournaments as well as up to date news on any future events. As in past years this tournament would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Please show your appreciation for all these sponsors whenever possible, so that we can continue to make this fishing tournament bigger and better in the years to come.
